The bike and bike ways are the perfect couple, in addition, curiously, is one of the few relations where a third can be; in this case, we refer to a safe parking lot, such as TransMiBici, a new transmodal system that cyclists <\/a>can enjoy.<\/p>

What TransMiBici is?<\/strong><\/h2>

In order to keep developing the use of bike, as the interconnection of the different public transports, the transport system, Transmilenio, now put into operation TransMiBici, a service in which, user can combine mobility in bike and public transport.<\/p>

Properly, the TransMiBicis are massive parking lots for bikes. These are installed out of different bus stations of Transmilenio.<\/p>

Their aim, is that those who use the bike to transport, can get closer pedaling to one of these places, after leave their bike in one of the parking lots and finally, continue with their tour by bus until they get to their destinations. All, while their bikes are safe.<\/p>

How to access to these parking lots?<\/strong><\/h2>

Facilitating the mobility in Bogot\u00e1 isn\u2019t the only thing to make easier, but to enjoy of their benefits. For that, to access to any TransMiBici is as simple as buy a ticket, literally, now we will explain you the why.<\/p>

The manager of Transmilenio, Maria Fernanda Ortiz, indicated that the purpose is to develop the intermodality, allowing citizens arrive cycling to these stations and continue with their tour of massive transport system.<\/p>

For that, indicated that the initiative Transmibicis offers to users the possibility of parking their bikes in one of the 27 total points distributed in all the city.<\/p>

In total, the almost 30 massive parking lots amount more than 7.300 available spaces to anchor or lock your bike. In order to have the right to use bike parkings, is necessary to have the property card of the bike, due these data must be entered in one occasion, the first time you access to a TransMiBici.<\/p>

How much cost to access to bike parking?<\/strong><\/h2>

If you believed that access to the Transmibicis was free, well, you\u2019re right. People that want to keep their bike in one of the parking lots, don\u2019t have to pay an extra fee for doing it so, the service is included when you pay your fare to the citizen transport system.<\/p>

In short, when you pay a fare for the bus, you have the right to use Transmibicis.<\/p>

In that way, tries to integrate efficiently and economically the use of bike with the TransMilenio System. All in a safe, economic and sustainable way.<\/p>

TransMiBici, an interconnectivity example<\/strong><\/h2>

On its part, Claudia Diaz, secretary of mobility, emphasized the importance of this program for sustainable mobility<\/a>.<\/p>

“We are happy of celebrate the recertification of TransMilenio to provide users with parking lots for TransMiBici”, indicated the officer.<\/p>

In this way, now users have another option to enjoy of sustainable mobility. Also, this program reinforces the importance to ease the interconnection between the different means of transport fostering the use of bike.<\/p>

In many occasions, to perform a bike tour can\u2019t be so convenient in long distances, but is effective to do part of the journey in public transport.
