In Mexico exist different states that don\u2019t have the necessary cycling infrastructure. The bike in Guanajuato is an example of sustainable mobility, due exist a city hall where inhabitants prioritize it as their main mean of transport. We are talking about Salamanca, place where the amazing 27.7% of their citizens use bike to move to school or work, percentage, that we must mention exceeds the state average.<\/p>

Good presence of bicycle in Guanajuato and Salamanca<\/strong><\/h2>

Even before covid-19 pandemic and according to the INEGI <\/a>data, Guanajuato is the entity that presents the use of bike among inhabitants. According with this census, the 12.31% of its population use bike in Guanajuato to go to work, while the 4.86% use it to go to school. However, by taking these data to municipal level, emphasized Salamanca, where the 22.7% of inhabitants use this mean of transport as their main transport to classrooms or works, properly, the 16.39% moves on two wheels to work, while the 6.32% makes the proper for schools. In this aspect, the state average gets to a 4.86%, for that, the citizenship exceeds it considerably.<\/p>

Bikeways, mobility key in Salamanca<\/strong><\/h2>

The fact that most of this citizenship move by bike, it also has to be with cycling infrastructure due provide greater safety for cycling on streets. In addition, as a curious fact, they are the closest ones to bikeways<\/a>.<\/p>

Salamanca city hall has a bikeway network with a total of 13.41 miles. In this infrastructure, the 57% is in good conditions, while the 43% is considered \u201cacceptable\u201d. The previous covers from asphalt, patching, to a good care of channelizers. According to this, is also important to mention that the current administration plans to increase at least a 30% more of cycling network mileage to provide greater safety to users.<\/p>

As we mentioned, Guanajuato bikeway has a great importance for citizens that are a great example of it. It\u2019s just enough to know the data of more transited avenues by cyclists to be aware of it; as the importance of having channelized bikeways in these and other places. According to the information of previous events, the five roads with greater cycling presence are, in first place, the Avenida Comunicacion Norte (997 cyclists) of Alvaro Obregon to Avenida del Sol, second, the Avenida Comunicacion Norte with Avenida Sol at Rancho La Luz (908 cyclists): after the Avenida Comunicacion norte- Boulevard Valle de Santiago and Alvaro Obregon street (902 cyclists), finally, Francisco Villa \u2013 Avenida del Trabajo \u2013 calle San Antonio (845 cyclists).<\/p>

At this point, we emphasize the need that a bikeway provides optimal safety to users. For that, channelizers (confibicis<\/a>) of great resistance and visibility help to protect pedalists from vehicle transit. At the same time to maintain in good conditions the roads and lights provide more safety.
