Bike bus, what is it?<\/strong><\/h2>

Maybe the first thing that you imagine when hearing the bike bus words, could be a bus or another great vehicle that transport bikes and cyclists, right? However, this answer is totally wrong.<\/p>

Relax, we must confess that we thought the same when we heard it. So, let’s discover what it really means. <\/p>

A bike bus is a cycling practice which purpose is to take safe and sound to cyclists from an A point to a B point; while looking out for each other.<\/p>

It should be noted that bike bus is for bikes only, it only refers to a group of two or more cyclists that, for redundancy, move on their bikes from one place to another.<\/p>

How it works?<\/strong><\/h2>

Even though it isn\u2019t needed a special membership to be part of a bike bus, there are certain considerations you must keep in mind, for example, from where they come and to where they go. This is due more than a recreational journey, is about a safe way of transport with a traced route.<\/p>

In this way, this practice is part of active mobility<\/a>, where, mainly but not exclusively, students and clerks get together in a point of departure to arrive together to their respective schools and working zones. <\/p>

As we mentioned before, when cycling you can be part of the bike bus wherever you find it; it isn\u2019t necessary to start with them from the beginning, nor is it necessary to reach the destination to which you are going. You can join them at any point of your route and deviate where you consider convenient, as you would do if you take the public transport.<\/p>

Active and educational mobility<\/strong><\/h2>

A bike bus is one of the best practices of active mobility. Bike is the less polluting transport that exists, so, when a group of people use this option to move to the same point with their bike, they are taking care of the environment while exercising.<\/p>

Another of the great advantages of this activity is develop road education, from there that many schools try to implement it.<\/p>

In the case of children that move by bike to school, a bike bus is the perfect option to get safe while learning traffic regulations.<\/p>

In this case, the group should be led and cared by two adults, as a minimum, they will lead and take care of infants. That\u2019s how children learn to move by bike correctly, at the same time, they familiarize with their rights and responsibilities<\/a> as cyclists in training.<\/p>
