The aim of providing greater safety in bikeway <\/a>of Magdalena Contreras that covers from El Gavillero until Unidad Habitacional Independencia (U.H.I.), the mayor, Fernando Mercado Guaida, announced the implementation of a security operation with the permanent presence of bicycle officers.<\/p>

The officer emphasized the importance of having safe cycling spaces, due are key spaces for sustainable mobility and the transportation of city hall\u2019 inhabitants.<\/p>

The bikeway is the only linear park of Magdalena Contreras and represents a space to transit, whether is by bike or walking, and, is also a place of entertainment for neighbors. For that, we will bring to life with safety and better urban services,\u201d Mercado mentioned.<\/p>

The program started with a safety tour by bike, where mayor and team covered the bikeway from El Gavillero, the highest zone of city hall, until the U.H.I., on the lower part of demarcation.<\/p>

Bicycle officers will patrol permanently<\/strong><\/h2>

According to Mercado, the safety program will be permanent, with patrols of surveillance in charge of bicycle officers, which will have a presence along the 4.3 miles of the bikeway and the U.H.I.<\/p>

The purpose of the initiative is to prevent crimes and reinforce the police presence in the zone.<\/p>

In total, are considered 12 cells of vigilance equipped with electric bikes to move 20 police elements. In addition, bicycle officers will patrol different neighborhoods of city hall\u2019 high zone, among them:<\/p>
