Due that, the number of protected and non-protected bike paths can increase at world level.<\/p><p>Nevertheless, that doesn\u2019t make so much difference due the same analysis of the institute resulted that <strong>protected<\/strong> bike lanes are the most developed factor for bicycle use.\u00a0<\/p><p>By contrast, most of people in accordance with ITDP information, prefers to avoid the use of bikes in streets and bike ways if these don\u2019t have a physical barrier that separates cyclists from vehicles.<\/p><p>In short, while safety of cyclists isn\u2019t guaranteed, will be difficult for citizenship to use bike ways as mean of transport in their daily life.<\/p><p>At this point is important to ask, what are the countries with protected bike ways nearby their population? Not for nothing have a great cyclist culture and <a href=\"https:\/\/multisenal.com\/en\/?p=24891\">the best bike ways of the world<\/a>. <\/p><p>These are the countries which percentage of population lives to less than 984 ft walking distance of a protected bike lane.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-finland\">Finland<\/h2><p>Surprisingly, the <strong>94%<\/strong> of population on Helsinky\/Vantaan live to less than 984 ft of a protected bike way. As the following examples:<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-colombia\">Colombia<\/h2><p>The Bogot\u00e1 area, Soacha is an example on South America of approaches between people and bikes. <\/p><p>This analysis indicates that <strong>47% <\/strong>of population is nearby a protected bike way. In 2024, has <strong>368 miles<\/strong> of bike paths and 341 of them are protected. This is placed in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> position at world level.&nbsp;<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-mexico\">Mexico<\/h2><p>Even though the result contrast with European cities, Mexico is one of the Latin America countries that most try to create a greater cyclist infrastructure.<\/p><p>Nowadays, is positioned in the 46st place with a <strong>6%<\/strong> of bike ways to less than 984 ft of their citizens. From that number, Leon city is the one with closest bike ways to users with <strong>67 <\/strong>miles of constructed bike ways and 66 miles of them are protected. Then Puebla, Merida, Cancun, Saltillo, Guadalajara and in 6<sup>th<\/sup> place Mexico City with 262 miles of exclusive bike lanes and <strong>210 miles <\/strong>of them are protected.<\/p><figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" src=\"https:\/\/ciclopistas.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6076\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ciclovias.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image.png 768w, https:\/\/ciclovias.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/ciclovias.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/image-600x338.png 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-country-with-less-bike-ways-in-the-world\">The country with less bike ways in the world<\/h2><p>Contrary to Finland, the opposite end is occupied by <strong>Philippines<\/strong> with at least the <strong>1%<\/strong> of bike ways to less than 984 ft of their citizens.
